The Dayara Bugyal Trek is a stunning and beginner-friendly trek located in the Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand, offering mesmerizing views of lush meadows, dense forests, and the majestic Himalayan peaks. Over the course of 6 days, trekkers traverse through charming villages like Barsu and Natin, experience the beauty of silver oak and rhododendron forests, and enjoy peaceful meadows at Dayara Bugyal (3,639 meters / 11,936 feet).

The trek is known for its scenic beauty, with a diverse range of flora and fauna, perfect for nature lovers and photographers. The trail is manageable for beginners due to its moderate difficulty, though it still offers rewarding challenges, especially as you ascend to Dayara Top for panoramic views of the Gangotri Range and Dodital Range.     Day 1: Dehradun to Natin Village

    Time: 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Altitude gain: 7,400 feet · Distance: 180 km · Duration: 7 hours (Drive)

    On Day 1, the trek starts with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Natin Village. The journey takes about 7 hours, passing through lush landscapes, quaint villages, and picturesque views of the Gangotri Range and Shrikanth Peak. The road from Dehradun to Uttarkashi offers glimpses of the majestic Moryana Top and is dotted with small markets like Bhatwari for a quick break. After crossing Raithal, the final stretch brings you to Natin Village, a serene location surrounded by forests. At an altitude of 2,250 meters, this village serves as the base camp for the trek. Upon arrival, you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, getting ready for the adventure ahead.

    Day 2: Natin to Gui

    Time: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Altitude gain: 9,500 feet · Distance: 7 km · Duration: 4-5 hours

    On Day 2, the trek begins from Natin Village and takes you to Gui, a serene campsite surrounded by dense forests. The trek is moderate, with a gradual ascent over a distance of 7 km. The trail is well-marked, and you will be walking through scenic landscapes filled with silver oaks and rhododendron trees. Along the way, you will enjoy two or three breaks for rest and refreshments. After approximately 4-5 hours of trekking, you'll reach Gui, located at an altitude of 2,900 meters. This is a beautiful spot to camp for the night, where you can enjoy a hot lunch and the tranquility of nature.

    Day 3: Gui to Chilapada

    Time: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM · Altitude gain: 9,800 feet · Distance: 5 km · Duration: 2 Hours

    Day 3 is a short and easy trek from Gui to Chilapada, covering a distance of 5 km in about 2 hours. The trail is scenic and easy to follow, winding through dense forests with silver oaks and rhododendron trees. This is a relatively relaxed day, offering a chance to enjoy the surrounding beauty of nature. Upon arrival at Chilapada, situated at an altitude of 3,000 meters, you can enjoy a hot lunch and relax in the peaceful environment, preparing for the next day’s trek

    Day 4: Chilapada to Dayara Top to Trek to Nayata

    Time: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM · Altitude gain: 12,100 feet - Dayara Top 9,200 feet - Nayata · Distance: 11 km · Duration: 8-9 hours

    On Day 4, get ready for a more challenging trek, starting from Chilapada. The first part of the journey takes you to Dayara Top, located at an altitude of 3,700 meters (12,100 feet), a trek of about 5 km that will take 5-6 hours. The path is moderately steep, offering magnificent views of the surrounding peaks, including the Dodital Range.

    After reaching Dayara Top and enjoying the spectacular panoramic views, you will descend to Nayata, situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters (9,200 feet). The trek from Dayara Top to Nayata is approximately 6 km and will take around 3-4 hours. This portion of the trek is easier, with gradual descents through stunning meadows and alpine forests. You will arrive at Nayata in the late afternoon, where you will set up camp for the night. This is a long but rewarding day with beautiful vistas throughout the journey

    Day 5: Nayata to Natin Village

    Time: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM · Altitude gain: 7,400 feet · Distance: 5 km · Duration: 3 hours

    Day 5 is a pleasant and easy day as you descend from Nayata back to Natin Village. The trek is about 5 km and will take around 3 hours to complete. The descent is gradual, and the trail winds through beautiful forests and meadows, offering a peaceful walk back to base camp. Upon reaching Natin Village at an altitude of 2,250 meters, you will enjoy a well-deserved hot lunch. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing you to relax and unwind in the tranquil surroundings before heading back to Dehradun the following day.

    Day 6: Natin Village to Dehradun

    Time: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM · Altitude gain: 2,100 feet · Distance: 180 km · Duration: 6-7 hours

    On the final day of the trek, you’ll begin your journey early in the morning from Natin Village and head back to Dehradun. The drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, covering 180 km. Along the way, you will make a few stops for refreshments and lunch. As you descend from the higher altitudes, you’ll enjoy the scenic beauty of the route and reflect on the memories of your trek. By late afternoon, you will reach Dehradun, concluding your trek with a sense of accomplishment and a beautiful experience of the Dayara Bugyal trek.
