Beginning with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Lohajung, the trek introduces you to the beauty of the region as you pass through the picturesque towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. From Lohajung, the trek moves on to Bekaltal, a tranquil lake surrounded by rhododendron and oak forests. Continuing on, trekkers reach Brahmatal, a high-altitude lake believed to have deep mythological significance. The trek offers mesmerizing views of snow-capped peaks such as Trishul and Nanda Ghunti, especially on the higher sections of the trail.

The Brahmatal Trek is ideal for those looking to experience the Himalayan beauty without an extremely strenuous challenge. Itinerary (Days)

Day 1

Drive from Rishikesh to Lohajung via Chamali and stay overnight.The journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Lohajung, the base village of the trek. As you pass through the picturesque towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag, the winding mountain roads will treat you to spectacular views of the Ganges and Alaknanda rivers converging below. By the evening, you’ll reach Lohajung, a charming village nestled at an altitude of around 7,600 feet, where you’ll spend the night in a guesthouse or homestay

Day 2

On the second day, you’ll embark on your first trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal. The 6 km journey takes you through dense oak and rhododendron forests, where you’ll be surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. Along the way, you'll pass scenic meadows and streams, with occasional views of the Kail Valley. As you approach Bekaltal, you’ll find a tranquil lake, surrounded by towering trees and mountains. The campsite near the lake offers a serene atmosphere to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

Day 3

The next day, the trek leads you to the higher reaches of the Himalayas as you make your way from Bekaltal to Brahmatal. The 7 km journey will take around 6-7 hours, passing through snow-covered trails (especially in winter), open meadows, and stunning mountain vistas. As you ascend, you’ll witness panoramic views of peaks like Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. Brahmatal Lake, believed to hold mythological significance, sits amidst this majestic landscape, offering a breathtaking spot to camp under the stars

Day 4

Descend to Daldum and camp overnight before the final trek to Lohajung

Day 5

After breakfast, descend to Lohajung and drive to rikishesh making the trek end.
