Goechala Trek 8 Days Itinerary
Day 1: Yuksom (5,670 ft) to Sachen (7,200 ft)
Trek Distance: 8 km | Duration: ~6 hrs
Trail passes through dense forest, iron bridges & steep ascents.
Carry packed lunch (no shops or water refills on the way).
Campsite stay at Sachen (tents).
Day 2: Sachen to Tshokha (9,700 ft) via Bakhim (8,600 ft)
Trek Distance: 7 km | Duration: ~5 hrs
Steep climb till Bakhim; enjoy tea stalls & water refills.
Beautiful rhododendron and alpine forest trails.
Overnight camping at Tshokha.
Day 3: Tshokha to Dzongri (12,980 ft) via Phedang (10,500 ft)
Trek Distance: 9 km | Duration: ~7 hrs
Rocky zigzag trail with gradual ascent.
Packed lunch & water required (no stalls en route).
Overnight stay at Dzongri campsite.
Day 4: Dzongri Top (13,675 ft) Sunrise Hike → Thansing (12,900 ft) via Kokcharang
Morning hike (30–60 mins) to Dzongri Top for sunrise view of Kanchenjunga range.
Descend to Kokcharang (12,000 ft), then cross Prekchu River.
Ascend to Thansing meadow.
Trek Distance: 10 km | Duration: ~6 hrs.
Day 5: Thansing to Lamuney (13,650 ft)
Easy trail (3 km | 1–2 hrs).
Relax at campsite & post-lunch hike to Samiti Lake (1 km).
Day 6: Lamuney → Goechala Pass (16,000 ft) → Back to Thansing/Kokcharang
Start at 3:30 AM after tea & light snacks.
Lamuney → Samiti Lake (1 hr), then steep ascent (~2 hrs) to Goechala.
Witness breathtaking sunrise over Kanchenjunga.
Descend back to Lamuney for lunch, then trek down to Thansing/Kokcharang.

Day 7: Thansing/Kokcharang to Tsokha (9,700 ft) via Phedang
Trek Distance: 12 km | Duration: 6–7 hrs
Trail passes through rhododendron forests with ascents & descents.

Overnight stay at Tsokha.
Day 8: Tsokha → Yuksom (5,670 ft)
Trek Distance: 15 km | Duration: 6 hrs
Descend through Bakhim & Sachen.
Return to Yuksom & trek ends.
