The Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek offers an immersive Himalayan experience, beginning in the vibrant town of Rishikesh, where trekkers gather at Laxman Jhula for a briefing. The trek takes you through the heart of Uttarakhand’s majestic landscapes, including lush rhododendron and oak forests, tranquil alpine meadows, and mesmerizing high-altitude lakes.

Over the course of 6 days, you’ll ascend through picturesque villages like Didna and Wan, with overnight stays in cozy guesthouses and campsites nestled in stunning settings. The trek’s highlight is the Bedni Bugyal, a vast meadow at 12,500 feet, offering panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks, including Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti.

What you bring

  • Backpack: 40-60 liters with a rain cover.
  • Accessories: Sunglasses, suncap, headlamp, trekking poles.
  • Water Bottles: 2 (1 liter each).
  • Toiletries: Sunscreen, lip balm, toothbrush, etc.
  • Cutlery: Spoon, coffee mug, lunch box.
  • Personal Items: First-aid kit, plastic bags for wet clothes.

Ensure you're packed light but with essentials for a high-altitude trek!

    Day 2: Lohajung to Didna Village

    Day 3: Didna Village to Khobal Tal (via Ali Bugyal)

    Time: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM · Altitude gain: 450m (11,300 ft) · Distance: 9-10 km · Duration: 7-8 hours

    Day 4: Khobal Tal to Ghairoli Patal (via Bedni Bugyal)

    Time: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM · Altitude gain: 3,800m (12,500 ft) · Distance: 6-7 km · Duration: 4-5 hours

    Day 5: Ghairoli Patal to Wan (then drive back to Lohajung)

    Time: 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM · Distance: 6-7 km trek + 16 km drive · Duration: 5-6 hours trek + 45-minute drive
